Francisco Palao, PhD, MBA
Francisco Palao Reinés is an entrepreneur and AI specialist with more than 25 years’ experience building technology ventures and helping teams take ambitious ideas into real-world use.
He has founded and scaled multiple AI-focused startups (including businesses that were later acquired), and is known for his work on “purpose-led” innovation—creating frameworks and communities that support founders and organisations to build products with measurable impact.
He holds a PhD in Artificial Intelligence and an MBA.

Prof Alejandro Frangi FREng
Alejandro Frangi is a recognised leader in computational medicine and medical imaging AI, focused on translating advanced modelling and machine learning into tools that can be used safely and confidently in real clinical settings.
Alongside his role at Oculomex, he holds senior academic appointments in the UK, including the Bicentenary Turing Chair in Computational Medicine and the Royal Academy of Engineering Chair in Emerging Technologies. His work spans AI-enabled imaging, precision computational medicine, and in silico trials (virtual trials), helping to strengthen the evidence needed to support adoption of new healthcare technologies.
At Oculomex, Alejandro provides scientific leadership across research direction, clinical validation planning, and translation strategy, ensuring the company’s approach remains evidence-led, clinically relevant, and aligned with how healthcare systems evaluate and adopt innovation.
